Are you a parent?

Watching your child work hard to prepare for a test and then under-perform can be heart-breaking.  You feel your child’s disappointment and frustration yet you don’t know how to help.  Similarly, you can become very frustrated if your child is capable but won’t put in the time and effort to study and then receives a low score. As part of the coaching process with teenagers, Dr. B involves the parent(s) and shows you how to support your child through the process of learning a new way to take tests.

Are you a teacher?

Sometimes you have a capable student whom you know should be performing better on tests. The student seems to understand the material, but their test performance doesn’t show it. Consider reading Dr, B’s forthcoming book, I HATE TESTS! FROM MELTDOWN TO MASTERY or consulting with Dr. B directly Dr. B also offers lively and informative inservice workshops.

Are you a school counselor,  administrator or policy maker?

Testing is a very hot topic nationally and locally. When school funding and teacher’s salaries are linked to test scores a lot is on the line. A student’s test success is not only a matter of knowing the test content or having certain skills in reading, mathematics and science. Good test performance also rests on knowing how to be calm, confident and focused throughout the testing process. If your school or district is facing challenges with test scores, consider calling in Dr. B as a consultant to assess the situation and help to turn it around.
