Stress and performance for the dental professional.

Whether you are a dentist, hygienist, assistant, or office manager, you are under a lot of stress every day. In addition to dealing with patient demands and emergency situations, you are also in the midst of on-going staff issues and the day-to-day problems of running an office. When stress builds, performance suffers. Not only does this affect you, the dental professional, but it also affects the patients you work with as well as your family and friends outside the office.

Seminars for dentists and dental teams

Dr. B is a nationally recognized expert on reducing stress in the dental office, for patients and staff. He is a speaker for the American Dental Associations CELL Seminar Series, and is a sought after seminar leader for "thank you" events that specialists offer for their referring dentists. What are the effects of stress?

Stress can affect you negatively:  physically, psychologically and spiritually.   Too much stress in the workplace can cause job dissatisfaction, absenteeism, accidents and high turnover.

How do you deal with stress?

When stress builds and you become exhausted, irritable, anxious or depressed you may try to relieve the stress in ways that are not healthy: drinking, over-eating, smoking. You may also take it out on others by being short tempered and easily upset.  This can only make matters worse. Knowing how to effectively deal with stress and make a big difference, for yourself and for the people around you at work and at home.

How Dr. B Performance Coach® can help you.

What do dental professionals say about Dr. B’s work?

Dr. B receives many testimonials for his work. Here is a small sample from dental professionals…

“Dr. B presents practical ways to achieve calmness, confidence and focus…His techniques can help build a comfortable and effective office environment.”

                                        John Bauman, DDS
Former Chairman of Concerned Colorado Dentists

“I can’t thank Dr. B enough for his invaluable seminar. He has a genuine, warm and engaging style that creates an immediate connection with his audience. He is entertaining as well as informative and thought provoking and skillfully involves his audience in the process. We literally didn’t want his presentation to end.

                                        Cheryl Lemon, RDH, BS
Monterey Bay Dental health Society Board Member

“I wish I could have been introduced to his concepts earlier in my career. Thanks to Dr. B I am calm, confident, and focused. I am more effective at home, work and play!”

                                      Brett H. Kessler, DDS
    Chairman, Concerned Colorado Dentists

[Each year] I give a “thank you” gift to all of my referring dentists. I host a day long CE course and  invite each of them to bring his or her team…The response to Dr. B’s course was phenomenal.  The typical comment from participants: “It was the best course yet.” Dr. Bernstein is a lively, engaging speaker. He is well informed about the psychology of the patient and he has the pulse on the different stresses each team member faces—from the dentist, to the hygienist, assistant and office manager.  This makes Dr. B’s course truly special. It gives every team member the opportunity to understand and appreciate each other’s contribution. The result: a more compassionate practice, better office spirit, and more satisfied patients.  If you haven’t given such a “thank you” to your referring dentists, I would recommend it. The value to you and your practice is potentially enormous. Whether you are considering what to give next, or for the first time,  I highly recommend Dr. Bernstein to be that “gift.”  He is a generous, entertaining teacher. He is wise and thoughtful, with much to offer to our field.

Alan C. Sproles, DDS, M.Sc.D,  Endodontist

Dr. Bernstein was delightful, interesting, and enthusiastic in his presentation.  These are just a few adjectives I could use to describe his personality and seminar.  He kept the audience entertained and attentive during the presentation by actively involving the entire audience.  He is the first person to use wireless microphones so he could mingle through the crowd and everyone could participate.  You were not safe sitting on the back row, although when called upon Dr. Bernstein never made any one feel uncomfortable.
